We are happy to announce the results of an open Call for Proposals for small grants scheme for journalists and media organizations in Armenia within scope of the EU funded “Justice Reform Monitoring in Armenia” (#JUREMONIA) project.
Among received 15 applications the Selection Committee recommended that The Civilitas Foundation, Investigative Journalists NGO, journalists Armenak Davtyan and Astghik Karapetian may be awarded the project contract. All proposers have been informed about the evaluation results on their proposals for this Call.
Summary of selected proposals are as follows:
- Applicant: The Civilitas Foundation
Project title: Analyzing Armenia’s Anti-Corruption Strategy (2019-2022)
Reform domain: Anti-corruption reforms
CivilNet aims to comprehensively examine Armenia’s anti-corruption strategy spanning the years 2019 to 2022 and assess its actual implementation. The project aims to assess the performance of anti-corruption institutions, document, and report on specific corruption cases, promote democratic values through anti-corruption measures.
- Applicant: Investigative Journalists NGO
Project title: Support for the protection of citizens’ right to a fair trial
Reform domain: Legal and judicial reforms
The project aims to find out the effectiveness of the tools used by the SJC to reduce the overloading of the courts, the reasons for not implementing the tools planned under the Strategy and promote the use of tools planned by the strategic plan.

Project title: My voice is heard
Project partner: Suren Babayan
Reform domain: Legal and judicial reforms, Prison and probation reforms
The project is aimed at contribution to the improvement of the parole system in Armenia through publications (articles, videos, radio broadcast, podcasts), also receiving clarifications from the relevant structures․

The goal of this project is to help people make informed decisions about their lives, the legal and judicial system and government. The role of the media is twofold – to inform/educate/empower the societies in which they operate and to act as a watchdog, that is to hold governments and those in power accountable.
