2 grants were announced and summarized within the framework of the EU-funded #Juremonia project on the topics of ensuring access to justice for forcibly displaced people from Nagorno Karabakh and providing support and adaptation in their new communities of residence.
The grant for ensuring access to justice for forcibly displaced people from Nagorno Karabakh won the “Armenian Lawyers’Association ” NGO in cooperation with the “Harmonia” Shushet women’s NGO.
The overall objective of the project is to contribute to the integration of Forcibly Displaced Persons FDPs from Nagorno Karabakh into their new communities of residence in Armenia by strengthening their rights protection mechanisms.
The specific objectives of the project are: to address the legal challenges faced by FDPs from NK, to elevate the level of legal awareness and to enhance access to justice and strengthen protection of their rights.
The main activities of the project are:
- Providing free legal assistance to forcibly displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh and are considered vulnerable (socially insecure, unemployed, disabled, student, woman, and etc.) for solving issues with state and local self-government bodies.
- Protection of interests of forcibly displaced people from Nagorno Karabakh aimed at solving the existing issues with the state and local self-government bodies
- Coverage and publicizing the problems that forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh have with the state and local self-government bodies,
- Collecting legal issues, making recommendations for the improvement of public policies for their solution, and channeling them to competent state and local self-government bodies.
- Formation and launch of a network of CSOs dealing with legal issues of forcibly displaced persons from Nagorno Karabakh for the protection of the rights of FDPs from Nagorno Karabakh
- Preparation and launch of an electronic platform with innovative and interactive solutions for the effective and sustainable implementation of legal issues, legal awareness and protection of the rights of forcibly displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh.
- Organization of presentation of the CSO Network established in the scope of the Project and the Electronic Platform and two workshops in CSO-Government and CSO-LSG formats.
